Safety Rules and Warnings
-
Hearing aids, their parts, and batteries are not toys and should be kept out of reach of anyone who might swallow these items or otherwise cause himself or herself injury.
-
Discard batteries carefully in a place where children or pets cannot reach them.
-
Always check medication before swallowing, as batteries have been mistaken for tablets.
-
Never dispose of batteries in a fire.
-
Never carry loose batteries in your pocket or purse. Keys and other metal objects can short out a battery.
-
Never allow others to wear your hearing aid, as it could be misused and permanently damage another's hearing.
If a hearing aid battery is swallowed, see a doctor immediately and call the National Button Battery Hotline at (202) 625-3333.
